How's Your Pillow?

This blog post has riding around in my pocket since Wednesday night, so here goes...

Reaching people for Christ is messy. Children that have no parental support or role models are unruly -- but they need Jesus. Teens are rebellious and sometimes obnoxious -- but they need Jesus. Adults are confrontational and stubborn -- but they need Jesus. Churches are messed up! My church is messed up! It is full of people and people are messed up.

Our floors are clean, our services are orderly, our parking lot is quiet -- nothing gets broken and everyone is comfortable and happy. Meanwhile, people are broken, they are messy, they are hurting and sometimes we have to get uncomfortable -- really uncomfortable -- to help them.

Jesus was willing to get uncomfortable to reach people where they were. Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” - Matthew 8:20 How's your pillow feeling lately?
