run

Eric and I ran our second 5k last month. We ran together the whole time (well, until he left me in his dust sprinting to the finish) and had a blast.

We did well, but I am more proud of the girls. This year, they had a kids fun run. Of course, we let Ashton and Cayden run. The cause the run supported was a children's charity. The girls were excited to learn that they could help other kids just by signing up for and running in a race.

Eric helped Ashton stretch it out...

...and did a little warm up run with Cayden.

The race was only about fifty yards. My girls are amazing and very competitive. Check out the action below. (Warning: I was slightly excited and a tad loud).
I love that our running and trying to stay fit makes them want to do the same. I hope even more that the way we live out our faith will inspire them to "run with perseverance the race marked out before them." (Hebrews 1:12) I am blessed.
